ART EXHIBITION “THE ROOTS WITHIN”

This exhibition created by a combination of Scandinavia cultural values: minimalism, connection to nature and mindfulness is dedicated to the connection between humans and nature. It features miniature artworks with sculptured surfaces that mimic raw organic textures, crafted in a signature Finnish minimalist style.

By championing cruelty-free ethics, philosophy, and care for the environment, this exhibition contributes to the creation of a more inclusive, equitable, and compassionate system, creating a positive impact on the cultural norms, and practices.

Veronika Vegesent

Veronika’s life has been a journey filled with visual arts, starting from her 8-year art education to earning a degree in graphic design. Throughout her diverse creative experiences from fashion photography to contemporary illustration, she has come across underlying issues within the art industry: the prevalent use of toxic materials, exploitative practices, cruelty, and harm to the environment. Driven by her desire to make a real impact, she has committed to follow and promote the values that hold deep significance to her.

A TANGIBLE CHANGE.

Art possesses the power to influence and, therefore, a responsibility to prioritize the fundamental principles of justice, equality, and compassion. Therefore, the revenue from this collection is fully donated to agricultural animal sanctuaries, organizations supporting children without parental care, and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to improve their impact.

CONVERSATION STARTER.

As much as we need the natural world to experience happiness and joy, it, too, requires our care. The world has reached a tipping point on issues such as social inequality, animal abuse, and the environmental crisis. Conceptual art addresses these challenges through visual storytelling: the straight lines of the biophilic art blocks represent human-made structures, such as walls and buildings, acting as a metaphorical nest that covers the Earth's surface. This prompts conversations about reconnecting with our roots in nature and acknowledging our individual responsibilities toward it.

UNCONVENTIONAL MATERIALS.

Art materials align with the philosophical concept of the artworks, emphasizing well-being, respect, and kindness. Specially formulated water-based acrylic-like paints are plant-based and cruelty-free, crafted with compassion for everyone sharing our beautiful world. Unlike typical paints, their production avoids the use of fossil fuels. Furthermore, these paints are entirely plastic-free and free from hazardous fumes (VOC) that can lead to health issues and allergies. The production process is water-free, waste-free, and powered by renewable energy. Organic pigments are sourced from family-owned quarries in Europe, prioritizing the protection of employee rights. This stands in contrast to cheaper pigments that may involve child labor in their extraction.

MOMENTS OF MINDFULNESS.

With an art piece always in sight, it’s easier to find a moment and self-reflect, explore the inner self, find peace of the mind, and joy in life. Art elevates our mood, improves our ability to problem-solve, and opens our minds to new ideas. The minimalist approach emphasizes well-being and inner awareness, promoting a less materially-oriented set of values and a deeper level of being. It reminds us of our roots, helps cut out unhealthy attachments, and reduces the appetite for things.
