Artist Statement: My artwork comprises separate canvases, each showcasing a unique sculptured surface crafted from locally sourced sand and stones. I draw rich colors from natural, 100% pure earth pigments, combined with a specially formulated, non-toxic, plastic-free substance. The deep green hue comes from Glauconite, a mineral sourced from a quarry in France, while a captivating silver shimmer is created using natural mica minerals mixed with granite and crystals.
Every wood structure in my work is FSC-certified, ensuring responsible forest management, and the modular system is crafted from plastic waste right here in Helsinki. I am committed to using plant-based, cruelty-free, and sustainably sourced materials that prioritize environmental responsibility and workers' rights.
Through this artwork, I highlight the intricate relationship between humanity and the environment, referring to the strength of collective action with my modular design. The unity of individual canvases forms a clear pattern, illustrating the profound impact each person can have in shaping the global narrative. I want to empower viewers to recognize their own power and potential for meaningful change.
