Concept: The portal. Interactive artwork allows coins to travel to the places they are needed the most.
The work is a poetic metaphor, made with the intention of raising donations to animal sanctuaries.
The work opens up the social structure of animal sanctuaries as a counter economy: institutions that exist because the production system creates a continuous supply of animals in need of care, sustained by individual donations rather than by the system that produced the animals.
Funds raised through the work are donated to Tuulispää, a sanctuary and permanent home for hundreds of farm and production animals in Southern Finland.
