The world has reached a tipping point on issues such as social inequality, animal abuse, and the environmental crisis. Conceptual art addresses the challenges our Earth faces due to human activity.
Industrialised animal agriculture is responsible for a staggering 16.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions. That's more than the entire global transportation sector combined.
Silver colour of this artwork represents the metallic sheen of industrial farming equipment and facilities, highlighting the mechanised nature of modern animal agriculture.
The animal agriculture industry in the US alone uses an astronomical amount of freshwater - enough to provide daily drinking water for the entire global human population.
The Amazon rainforest, the world's largest carbon sink, has seen over 90% of its deforestation linked to livestock production, both for grazing land and feed crop cultivation.
Perhaps most shocking is that global governments prop up this environmental disaster with over $600 billion in subsidies annually. This allows meat to remain artificially cheap, masking its true cost to the planet.
By transitioning to a plant-based diet, we can drastically cut our carbon footprint and help mitigate the devastating effects of climate change. With awareness and action, we can create a more sustainable, compassionate food system.
